SSI Youth Solutions
Anderson, C., Hartman, E., Ralston, D. J. (2021, April 30). The Family Empowerment Model: Improving Employment for Youth Receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) (PDF).
The SSI Youth Solutions project developed new policy solutions to help youth with disabilities-particularly youth receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI)-successfully transition to adulthood. This project was funded by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), by Mathematica, under contract number 1605DC-18-A-0020.
Through a competitive application process, ODEP selected 12 policy, program, or service ideas proposed by experts to promote the transition outcomes of youth SSI recipients that represented (1) novel, untested ideas that warrant further scrutiny or (2) interventions with credible evidence of their effectiveness worth considering for broader implementation. The selected experts developed their solutions into papers published in May 2021. IPARRT researchers collaborated with colleagues to develop The Family Empowerment Model: Improving Employment for Youth Receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
